Introducing our 2010-2011 Fair Queen!

Hello and welcome to the 89th Eastern New Mexico State Fair!

I am Ashlee Rose Mills, the 2010-2011 Miss Eastern New Mexico State Fair. A senior at the University of New Mexico, I will be completing my Bachelors in Criminology this spring. Eagle Nest in Colfax County is my home town. When I am not competing in goat tying or break away roping in the rodeo world, or reining and western riding events; I am horseback riding by the famous Eagle Nest Lake right below my home, while marveling at the glorious Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

This year has been an unbelievable adventure promoting the exciting Eastern New Mexico State Fair. As queen I have been able to guide children through the chutes of the rodeo grounds and explain the different events to them, having the thrill of making that exciting queen's run at multiple rodeos including PRCA sanctioned rodeos and the Rodeo De Santa Fe, being a part of the Working Ranch Rodeo Finals, and having the joy of helping out various organizations in the name of the Eastern New Mexico State Fair representative.

There is no place like the Eastern State Fair where traditions are remembered and cherished- sharing that with the rest of New Mexico has been a blessing. The experience I have gained as a queen has prepared me for multiple aspects of life. Thank you to: Ms Robin Bostick for being so supportive as the Eastern New Mexico State Fair Queen Coordinator; Mr. Larry Hobson and the Eastern State Fair Commission, and everyone affiliated with the fair, for all the hard work you do to make the Eastern State Fair the success that it is. I would also like to thank my parents Lee and Jackie Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Bub Warren, as well as my younger sister Janna for encouraging me and challenging me to chase my dreams.

The Eastern New Mexico State Fair Queen Contest is held annually to select a young lady who has the desire and enthusiasm to serve as a spokesperson for the sport of rodeo and to be the Eastern New Mexico State Fair’s representative and ambassador. Please review pages 58-65 in the Fair Book if you have questions or are curious about what it takes to be the ENMSF Fair Queen.

The Eastern New Mexico State Fair Queen Committee has pledged to make the pageant memorable for each contestant. The Committee is confident that the Eastern New Mexico State Fair Queen chosen will represent her state in a distinguished manner, while promoting the sport of rodeo.
